It’s done!
It only took me 19 years, but I can now call myself a college graduate. I made the Dean’s list 5 times and my cumulative GPA of 3.38 was good enough to allow me to graduate with honors. The last year has been a wild but rewarding ride. I have learned a lot about the current crop of college students, expanded my horizons a bit through exposure to literature through the ages and philosophy, but mostly I have learned a great deal about myself. The original plan was for me to have secured employment prior to graduating. Despite a considerable effort over the summer that did not happen. Last week we had to move to a new smaller apartment here in Auburn with a month-to-month lease option so I can continue my search while Hattie and Abby return to school. Hopefully we will find something soon so we can start the next chapter of our lives. Check out my resume at the link at the top of the page if you are curious about my skills and experience. Meanwhile, I’m just trying to take this all in. It’s so hard to believe that I’m actually DONE!

Congrats, Robert! I can’t even begin to put myself in your shoes, but I know all the hard work you’ve put in over that last year will be rewarded eventually. And chalk up this journey as a life impacting experience for you and the family. Your girls will never forget this experience as they grow up, and hopefully the hard work and determination you’ve shown through this will guide them in the years to come.
